What is it that makes wedge salad skewers so unbelievably good? Is it the fresh crunchy lettuce chunks, savory crispy bacon, the juicy red tomatoes or the creamy tangy homemade ranch dressing? Never mind I just answered my own question! These little guys will make for a great addition to any spread whether it is game day, a dinner at home or a gathering elsewhere. They are so fun, cute and easy to eat!
These wedge salad skewers are a convenient way to enjoy a blend of some really great flavors. It is a portable and easy grab and go item. They are so light and refreshing, they make a great addition to any spread to balance out any heavier items that they could potentially be accompanied by.
I highly recommend making the skewers and the ranch dressing ahead of time to give them time to cool in the fridge before serving. Plus, that gives you one less thing to do before the big game!
One thing I wanted to note about my wedge salad skewers is that they are a little different because I opted to use goat cheese crumbles instead of bleu cheese. People either really love bleu cheese and cant get enough or they dislike it to their core. The traditional wedge salad is served with bleu cheese, but my family and I fall into the category of disliking it. I decided to go with the goat cheese because it is a flavorful creamy cheese that would pair well with the creamy ranch dressing. The flavor is not too potent and it has a similar texture. But, if you are reading this and you are one of those people who love Bleu cheese and cant get enough, you can absolutely substitute!
You know how you plan your Christmas dinners well in advance? Well call me crazy, but I treat football days the same! I love it all! I love menu planing, the fall weather, getting together with family and friends and cheering on our favorite teams all while indulging in a great spread in my pjs or game day gear.
This recipe is a little more special than the others not only because of my love for wedge salad skewers and ranch combined, but because my Husband and I went to the farm and hand picked each of the little tomatoes off the vine ourselves. So, these skewers really are made with love and it was such a fun activity for us to do! I highly recommend doing something like that if you have a U-pick farm in your area.

Wedge salads are a classic and easily one of my go to salads. They are so simple containing only 3 main ingredients, yet so satisfying!
