Name a better duo than peanut butter and chocolate…I’ll wait. And don’t even think about saying jelly, because peanut butter and chocolate is hands down better than peanut butter and jelly.
…Verdict is in…there is no better duo! This smoothie tastes just like a peanut butter cup in liquid form. It will keep your stomach full and satisfied, so you won’t be tempted to reach for more peanut butter cups to eat! Oh and an added bonus, it takes no more than 5 minutes to make! Toss all of the ingredients into a blender or your ninja cup and blend.
I am going to cover the three main aspects of what makes this smoothie so great, it is broken down into protein, chocolate and peanut butter. See below!
The Protein:
I know it can sometimes be hard to get the protein your body needs, but making this smoothie is such an easy way! I incorporate my favorite molten chocolate protein powder that contains 24 grams of protein per serving plus one of my favorite milks, which is a mixture of almond and cashew and it contains 10 grams of protein per serving for at least a total of 34 grams of protein in this smoothie! Woah, I know!
The Chocolate:
I mentioned my favorite molten chocolate whey protein powder I use above, but another way I incorporate healthy chocolate flavors into this smoothie is by adding raw cacao nibs. The traditional nibs can be a bit bitter, I still get them raw, but the sweet nibs instead. It makes a slight difference and makes the smoothie a little sweeter. The nibs also provide an abundance of rich antioxidants which helps reduce stress and inflammation.
The Peanut Butter:
To give this smoothie an extra peanut butter boost, I include two types of peanut butter: PB2 (peanut butter powder) and actual creamy smooth peanut butter. I like incorporating both because the powder is easier to blend in and won’t make the smoothie overly thick. Plus, it gives it that extra flavor and slight sweetness.
Can this be made ahead of time?
You bet that this can be made ahead of time! Make this the night before and keep it stored in the fridge, make it in the morning before work and then you have a midday snack lined up or make it before your workout so it’s all ready to go when you are done.

It tastes just like the peanut butter cup candy, but is made with healthier ingredients and contains a plentiful amount of protein to nourish and replenish your body. Make this for breakfast, a midday pick me up or right after a good sweat session.
