Ingredients

Ingredients: For the Salmon

  • 1 large salmon filet or 4-5 individual portion salmon filets
  • ¼ Cup brown sugar
  • Fresh lemon juice from half a lemon
  • 2 TSP salt
  • 1 TSP black pepper
  • ¼ Cup low sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup good quality olive oil
  • 2 TBSP water
  • 1 TSP sesame oil
  • 1 TBSP fresh garlic, minced

Ingredients: For Serving and Garnish

  • Steamed white jasmine rice (optional)
  • White sesame seeds (optional)
  • Green onion, thinly sliced (optional)

Instructions

    1. To make the sauce and marinade, mix all the ingredients minus the salmon in a small bowl. Set aside.
    2. Place the salmon in a shallow glass rectangle baking dish. Pour the sauce and marinade over the flesh side of  the salmon. Baste the salmon with the marinade or spoon the marinade over the salmon. If your salmon has skin on one side, flip the salmon so it is skin side up and the flesh is facing down then baste it again. If there is no skin on either side, it does not matter which side the salmon is on as long as all parts and sides are getting marinaded.
    3. Cover with plastic wrap or foil and place in the fridge for 2–3 hours OR overnight.
    4. When ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350 and bake for 20-30 minutes. Check on the salmon every so often during the cooking process.
    5. When done, remove from heat and let cool. Serve right away with steamed white rice and desired vegetables. Garnish with white sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
    6. ENJOY!
